Panel Discussion: Contract Printing & Decoration Outsourcing: Expand Your Business Not Your Overhead (S19)

Most shops who offer custom apparel decoration services like to act as a one-stop shop to keep their customers happy. But purchasing equipment, hiring a skilled staff and having the production space is easier said than done. Our panel of shop owners will discuss the benefits of outsourcing orders to other decoration businesses while also exploring the benefits of offering contract decoration services.  We’re bringing together a panel of seasoned shop owners who have mastered the art of balancing in-house production with strategic outsourcing and contract decorating strategies. They’ll share their insights on:

  • Maximizing Efficiency: Learn when to handle orders in-house and when to pass them along.
  • Cost-Effective Strategies: Find out how outsourcing can significantly reduce your overhead.
  • Expanding Your Services: Discover how offering contract decoration services can open new revenue streams.
  • Whether you’re looking to streamline your operations, enhance your service offerings, or simply want to focus more on the creative aspects of your business, this seminar will provide you with the knowledge and tools you need.
Mastering DTF Transfers: Softer Hand Feel and Perfect Pressing Techniques (S06)

Join us for an in-depth session where we’ll tackle two of the most common challenges in Direct to Film (DTF) transfers: achieving a soft hand feel and mastering the pressing process. Discover the secrets beyond just choosing the right films and powders.

Additionally, we’ll demystify the pressing process. From the right temperature, pressure, and time settings to handling different materials and garments with buttons, zippers, and seams, you’ll gain valuable insights to avoid common pitfalls. Learn how to achieve a screen print-like feel with DTF transfers and walk away with practical tips to elevate your garment decoration skills. Whether you’re a seasoned screen printer or new to garment decorating, this class will provide you with the knowledge and techniques to enhance your DTF projects.

Secrets of Pre & Post Production: Efficiency Around the Press (S10)

The common narrative is that improving efficiency in screen print production is done at press. This is true, but only if you’re strictly considering the “production” of an order from press start to press stop. We all know an order spends the majority of its lifespan in your shop everywhere but the press. There are many ways to maximize efficiency during this time. It may be surprising to you how much more time and money there is to be saved around the press than on it.

Bridging the Gap: Art & Production (S18)
This seminar features co-speakers Tyler Rice (Artist/Marketing) and Dennis Condusta (Production Manager) from Axelrad Screen Printing. Designed as a sister course to “The Secrets of Pre/Post Production” this seminar will dive into the Art phase of an order prior to production and outline specific tools to inevitably increase production efficiencies starting at the Art process. The main objective is to illustrate processes that provide a mutually beneficial cohesion between the commonly disjointed worlds or Art and Production. Key Points: Understanding Roles and Processes: Introduce both departments to the complete workflow of each other’s roles Designing for your specific production limitations. Quality Control and Final Adjustments: Teach both departments how to work together during the final stages of production to ensure the finished product meets the original design intentions and quality standards. Setting up cohesive and accurate pantone checking systems. Embedding production information into the art. Setting up tools and software for real-time communication between Art and Production. Logging/Storing information for re-orders.
